These pictures were submitted by Jim (um... lost his address) of his hotwire planing/turning machine. He also sent some text but I lost that too. x-( Basically, he used a gear motor (at 1/2RPM) to turn the blank and an electric screwdriver (ran with a rheostat and 6V battery charger) to advance the table. It cuts so slowly, the wire basically floats through the foam, needing little force to hold the work in place.
