Hi,
I just found this site yesterday, and it has some neat info, but I can't see any pictures, photos or emoticons. Instead, there's a little red X on a small white rectangle and a word next to it (Shocked, Confused, Cool, etc.). I registered because I thought it might help, but nope.
Are the pics broken, or is this some retarded MicroShaft way of "protecting" me? I'm using IE7, and it works well enough on other sites. Anyone? Ferrous? Anyone? |

I don't even see the places where the pictures or emoticons are supposed to be, I just see the word.
I think something might be wrong with the pics themselves, like in moved, deleted or inaccessible. |

Something's screwey with the server. All files are still available, with ordinary file permissions, but for some reason it appears they are not accessible when referred from www.abymc.com.
For instance, you can right-click an image, select View Image, then select the URL and press enter (thus linking the image by itself, with no referrer). If you go back, the image should remain cached for a little while.

Well, it's partially fixed now, since I can see all the photos on the topic "How bout a blue flame WMO burner.....", and I couldn't see them before. That's fixed enough for me; emoticons are moot for me, I'm too close to Vulcan to have a use for them.
BTW, sylar, I must say that I strenuously object to your practice of removing the tops of peoples heads just to gain their abilities. Can't you just read their blogs? Tim, I'm sure you can back me up on this since it has spared your life so far. |

Externally linked images will still work okay. If I were desperate I could easily move all the images (and rewrite the forum to change the links) to another server and it would work. But...eww...

Tim,
When I right click one of the icons next to a topic, and select "view image" It gives me this error:
"Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /forum/templates/subSilver/images/folder_big.gif on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."
Is it possible the permissions have gotten screwed up somehow? Can this be fixed? Or perhaps the path information has gotten messed up? or both?
Note that when I go through this same process on Backyardmetalcasting.com it shows me the image without any problem.

After View Image, click the URL and press Enter to refresh. The image will show. It's a referral problem, as though the server has blocked images from appearing on www.abymc.com. _________________ Librarians are hiding something (tm) |

Contacted Hostgator and they fixed it. Not bad for not personally having any business with them (Tom owns the site).
